Congratulations to our author Professor Michael Stumpf who has received the Rector's Medal for Excellence in Research Supervision at Imperial College London. The Rector's Awards for Excellence in Research Supervision recognise staff who have made exceptional contributions in providing a supportive learning environment for postgraduate research students. It was rewarded to Professor Stumpf for his outstanding commitment to training and mentoring students.
As well as being the course director of the MSc in Bioinformatics at Imperial College London, Prof Stumpf holds the Chair of Theoretical Systems Biology and works on a range of topics in theoretical and statistical systems biology, systems medicine, statistical bioinformatics, dynamical systems and networks, and evolutionary theory.
Along with Prof Wiuf from Aarhus University, he is the editor of the ICP title Statistical and Evolutionary Analysis of Biological Networks which reviews and explores statistical, mathematical and evolutionary theory in the understanding of biological networks. More information on this title along with a sample chapter can be found at http://www.worldscientific.com/worldscibooks/10.1142/p659. Congratulations from all of us at Imperial College Press!
